Further & Higher Education
We provided Quantity Surveying Services on the 4 storey extension to the Thomas Graham Building which houses the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde.
The works involved constructing a steel frame 4 storey structure on top of an existing two storey building to provide office, teaching and laboratory accommodation. The existing frame and foundations had to be strengthened to accommodate the extension and a breakthrough into the existing building at each level had to be undertaken to tie in the floorplates for accessibility.
